Socorro (Au)

  • The Socorro property is a regional gold exploration play with dozens of pits and placer deposits with excellent potential to host both bulk open-pit, heap-leachable deposits as well as high-grade gold in high-angle structures.

  • The southern part of the concession covers the northern extension of Alamo's El Chanate mine, while the central and northern portion cover a regional structure over 10 km long that hosts mesothermal veins with gold values up to 20 g/t.

  • Work to date on the property includes interpretation of ASTER images, surface reconnaissance and detailed geological mapping. Extensive rock chip sampling was also conducted, followed up by an 8,000-sample soil geochemical survey in selected covered areas.
  • Further work is warranted to investigate geochemical anomalies as well as to systematically sample vein outcrops and hydrothermally altered areas.

  • The property consists of three claims known as El Socorro Frac. 1, El Socorro Frac. 2, and Tizoc R1 covering 35,654 hectares staked in 2011.
